Enhance your effectiveness working across cultures

This popular and thought provoking two-day course will build your understanding of how to work more effectively across cultures to enhance capacity.

Who is this course for?

This popular two day workshop is invaluable for anyone planning to work overseas in a humanitarian or development context, and for people working across cultures in Australia. Participants come from a range of professional backgrounds. After the course, you'll be better prepared to apply for and succeed at volunteer or paid roles with both Australian and overseas agencies or bring additional skills to your current role.

What will you learn?

The Capacity Development Across Cultures (CDAC) course is intensive, but provides ample time and opportunity for discussion and learning from other participants.

You will gain knowledge and skills to:

  • appreciate cross cultural capabilities relevant to overseas or cross-cultural programs
  • understand the influence of culture on behaviour
  • understand capacity and capacity development
  • integrate cultural perspectives to capacity development practice
  • build trust and work collaboratively with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • engage in capacity development activities using contemporary approaches.
